Everyone has that one friend who always says, “amazon was an idea of mine. I could have become a billionaire if I had taken action!” That reasoning is absurd and sad. The act of actually constructing amazon has nothing to do with having the original idea. What you do, not what you think, say, or plan, is what counts.

Do you truly believe your concept is valuable? Then go ahead and try to sell it to see what you can get. The answer is probably not much. Your fantastic idea is simply that until you really start producing it. Everybody has one of those.

To aspiring filmmakers, Stanley Kubrick offered the following advice: “Get a camera and some film and make a movie of any kind at all.” * Kubrick understood that you need to start creating when you’re beginning at anything. The most crucial step is to start. So pick up a camera, press “Record,” and begin taking pictures.

There is no shortage or cost of ideas. The original pitch concept makes up such a tiny portion of a company that it is practically irrelevant. How well you carry out your plan is the primary question.
